1. Complete the Digital Electronics Epidemiological Health Pass

Please be advised that all travelers entering Costa Rica must complete the digital electronics epidemiological Health Pass form available at https://salud.go.cr

2. Obtain Travel Insurance

You must obtain travel insurance (either international or purchased in Costa Rica) that covers accommodation in case of quarantine and medical expenses for acute illness.

Starting August 1, 2021, fully vaccinated passengers, and minors (under 18) will no longer require the mandatory insurance requested by Costa Rican authorities to visit the country. This new measure will be in force beginning August 1, 2021.

To be eligible, visitors must show a document that shows passenger’s full name, date of doses, formula and lot number (either a certificate or vaccination card). Moderna, Pfizer, AstraZeneca, or Johnson & Johnson are the only approved vaccines. Vaccines must had been applied 14 days prior visitor arrival.

COVID testing is no longer required to enter the country.

Before returning to the USA effective immediately
, the United States requires that all air passengers entering the country will be required to provide a negative COVID-19 test prior to boarding their flight as per the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).   Many of our travel suppliers have made arrangements for on-site COVID-19 testing right at your hotel (view these travel supplier policies).

Reminder-if you do any COVID testing or seek any healthcare while abroad, please retain all receipts for insurance purposes.
