ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR BELIZE

 

It is almost time for your trip to Belize! As you prepare, please be aware of the new travel requirements and entry screening process for visiting the island. The ongoing pandemic causes frequent changes to entry requirements and testing guidelines, so be sure to check this page frequently leading up to your trip as it will be updated with new information as it becomes available.

1. Fully Vaccinated Travelers

Before arriving, Belize is now accepting proof of COVID-19 immunization for fully vaccinated travelers. Travelers should have completed the full immunization 2 weeks or more prior to travel. You will need to present vaccination card. Or, if you cannot provide proof of immunization bring along a negative Real-time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) COVID-19 test taken within 96 hours of travel, or Rapid Antigen, Sofia, SD Biosensor, ABBOTT (Panbio) test taken no more than 36 hours prior to travel. If neither is presented, you can take a COVID-19 test upon arrival. Children under the age of 5 are not required to present a negative COVID test; Children 5 years and older must present a negative COVID test.

Fully vaccinated travelers can travel to Belize 2 weeks after their last shot and don’t need to present a test just their vaccination card.

Travelers who have tested positive upon arrival at the international airport will need to quarantine at their own expense.

2. Confirm Stay in an Approved Gold Standard Accommodation

All travelers must confirm their stay in an approved Gold Standard Accommodation for the duration of their stay.

Before returning to the USA effective immediately, the United States requires that all air passengers entering the country will be required to provide a negative COVID-19 test prior to boarding their flight as per the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Many of our travel suppliers have made arrangements for on-site COVID-19 testing right at your hotel (view these travel supplier policies).

Reminder, if you do any COVID testing or seek any healthcare while abroad, please retain all receipts for insurance purposes.
